Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced that 50-year-old Lacon Brown was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for second-degree murder. Clark didn’t mince words about the impact of the crime, saying Brown “took their mother away and traumatized these girls,” and that she hopes his long sentence brings the children some measure of solace. Brown pleaded guilty in September to killing Cindy Maxwell, 45, during a violent attack inside her Allerton apartment on August 23, 2023. Victim ID'd in Fatal Subway Stabbing in Bronx

A straphanger was brutally stabbed on a Bronx subway platform in an unprovoked attack. The victim later died of his injuries.

BRONX- Police have identified the victim who was fatally stabbed on a Bronx subway platform in an unprovoked attack. 




Charles Moore, 38, was repeatedly stabbed as he stepped out of a subway car on the East 176 Street and Jerome Avenue Station platform of the Number 4 train. 



At around 8:30 pm on October 6, Moore was exiting the subway car and walking onto the platform when a man approached him with a large knife. Suddenly he begins stabbing the straphanger repeatedly in the back and chest.

Surveillance video shows how the attacker stabbed the straphanger and then left him to bleed on the subway platform while he fled the station.



The victim was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital. Overnight the victim died of his injuries. 



The NYPD is not releasing the victim’s name pending family notification. 





Investigators say no words were exchanged and can find no motive at this time. The case is being labeled another unprovoked attack. 



The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion who is 5 foot 11 and 160 pounds. He has a medium build and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black Nike sneakers with a gray logo and carrying a black backpack.
