Eight Men Charged in Years-Long Stolen Car Scheme Affecting More Than 100 Buyers  Bronx Voice  November 14, 2025  NYC LOCAL NEWS - Federal and local authorities say they’ve shut down a long-running stolen-car ring that hit New York City streets hard and stretched its impact all the way down the East Coast.  The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced charges against eight men accused of stealing more than 100 cars and selling them to unsuspecting buyers—often people who thought they were simply getting a good deal online. According to the allegations in a newly unsealed federal complaint, the group targeted mostly Honda, Acura, and Jeep vehicles parked on the streets of the Bronx and Queens. Investigators estimate the scheme caused millions of dollars in losses. Six of the eight defendants were arrested and taken into federal court in Manhattan to face the charges. Gunmen Try to Steal Dog, Moped

Pooch Gets Away, Deliveryman Not So Much

BRONX - Cops are looking for a group of robbers who stole a delivery man’s moped and tried to steal another dog owner’s pooch during a string of robberies in the Bronx.




The NYPD released surveillance photos of one of the gunmen dressed all in black and the gray sedan used as a getaway car.

At around 10:30 am on October 2, a 33-year-old man was walking his dog near a school. In the vicinity of East 229 Street and Carpenter Avenue two men dressed in black clothing and black ski masks approached him. One of the men pulled out a gun and demanded the dog.


The owner ran with the dog and fled to safety.


The robbers jumped into the gray sedan and took off. Cops say a third member of the crew drove the getaway car.




The next day at around 12:45 am the two robbers approached a food delivery man. The sedan pulled up in front of 3973 Bronxwood Avenue and two robbers got out and displayed handguns to the 32-year-old delivery man.


They demanded the man’s moped and proceeded to punch the victim in the face. They grabbed the victim’s cellphone. One of the men jumped on the moped while the other hopped back into the sedan. The gunman drove the stolen moped behind the sedan and drove  away.


During an investigation police discovered these two robberies are linked to an earlier armed robbery in front of a storefront church on Bronxwood Avenue.


At around 9:30 pm on September 22, two men in black and wearing ski masks exited a gray sedan and approached a 21-year-old man with guns drawn. They stole the victim’s bag and fled.
