Customers Still Arriving at Shuttered Fordham DMV

By David Greene  Bronx Voice  October 21, 2025 Follow @x BRON X - For the better part of two decades the Bronx District Office of the New York City Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has been at East Fordham Road and Crotona Avenue—10 days after it moved to the Bronx Terminal Market, customers continued to arrive at the shuttered location. On August 22, the DMV posted information on its website that the popular location at 696 East Fordham Road in the Belmont section would close at the end of business on September 26, and would reopen on the sixth floor of the Bronx Terminal Market at 610 Exterior Street in the South Bronx on October 1. BRONX - A shower cap wearing burglar used a hammer to break into the lobby of an apartment building to get to the tenants’ mailboxes, the NYPD said. 


At around 1 am on October 6, a woman wearing a shower cap was caught on surveillance video trying to break into the vestibule of 1425 Noble Avenue. 


Cops said the woman used the hammer to break the glass door and gain access to the vestibule. She then tried to break into a mailbox for the tenants.


It is unclear if the vandal made off with any items. 


Woman Robbed Walking Dog in Park 

MANHATTAN - A woman walking her dog in the park in the Garment District was robbed by a trio of muggers, the NYPD said.

The suspect is described as a woman with a dark complexion who is between the ages of 25 and 30. She is 5 foot 2 and 190 pounds with a heavy build. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt featuring checkered design on the front, red skirt, white sandals, and a shower cap.
