Man in Wheelchair Robbed at Gunpoint

BRONX - Cops are looking for a gunman who stuck up a man in a wheelchair and a woman in the Bronx in two separate robberies.




At around 2:45 pm on July 13, a 52-year-old man in a wheelchair was in front of 3433 3rd Avenue when he was approached by a man dressed in  a light blue t-shirt with matching sneakers and baseball cap.



Cops said the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the man’s property. The victim handed over his cellphone and wallet to the gunman. The wallet contained an unknown amount of cash.


The robber then fled on foot. 




The victim was not injured during the stickup.


A half hour later cops said the same robber struck again.


At around 3:15 on July 13, a 27-year-old woman was standing in front of a commercial establishment at Melrose Avenue and East 161 Street in Concourse Village. The man in blue walked up to her and pulled out a gun. He then snatched the woman’s  purse from her.





With purse in hand, the gunman ran away. 


Later that day a $65 charge was made on the victim’s stolen credit card. Cops believe the gunman used the stolen credit card. 


The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt with a white graphic on the chest. He also wore a matching light-blue baseball cap and matching sneakers. He wore white shorts.
