5 Teens Missing from Castle Hill Group Home

All of the teens were from a group home on Howe Avenue that is run by the non-profit Catholic Guardian Services (CGS) which is affiliated with and shares office space in the same building as the Archdiocese of New York. According to the NYPD, Jy-Lee Connor, 14, went missing after she left the group home at 7 p.m. on May 14 and has not returned. BRONX - Police have made arrests in the fatal post Fourth of July shooting in Fordham in which a gunman opened fire on a crowded street from a car.



 

Police have arrested 19-year-old Ariel Velasquez and 28-year-old Ramon Santos. Both have been charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, attempted manslaughter and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. 




Police have also released the name of the victim. He has been identified as 18-year-old Moise  Figueroa who lived near Yankee Stadium. 






At around 2:20 am on July 5, a group of teens was walking down Morris Avenue in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx. Surveillance video shows a white SUV pulls up alongside the group. A man gets out of the passenger seat, pulls out a gun and unleashes a barrage of bullets.




The video shows bystanders scattering once gunfire rings out.


The victim, Figueroa, who was with the targeted group suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a 19-year-old man was shot in the hip.



Both men were rushed to nearby Saint Barnabas Hospital. Figueroa was pronounced dead. The 19 year old is listed in stable condition.


 

Police recovered a white vehicle that crashed a short distance from the shooting. The vehicle had been traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into a median.


Published reports claim that the accident was linked to the shooting. However, police would not confirm whether the crash was linked to the Fordham shooting.
