BRONX - A gas station employee was beaten with a soda can by a man claiming to have a gun at a service station across the street from Lehman College, cops say.

Police released surveillance video of a man dressed all in black including a winter coat and a bandanna, who they say, robbed the Jerome Avenue gas station.

At around 1:50 am on June 6, a man dressed in black was caught on camera entering the Gulf Gas Station at 2947 Jerome Avenue near Mosholu Parkway. Cops say the man walked up to the counter and struck a store employee in the head with a soda can.

According to investigators, the attacker then simulated that he had a gun and kept the injured worker at bay as he rumaged through the till of the cash register.

Cops said an undetermined amount of cash was removed from the register.

The suspect then left the store and fled on foot southbound on Jerome Avenue.

The victim did not seek medical attention.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect in the hopes of generating leads to an arrest.

The suspect has a medium complexion and was dressed all in black. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket, black boots and a black bandana. He had a black back pack slung over his shoulder. He also wore green camouflage pants.
