BRONX - Cops arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death outside a Bronx supermarket.

Police arrested 19-year-old Naisaih Diaz who lived a few blocks away from the crime scene. Diaz was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of Jermaine Williams.

At around 7:48 pm on May 8, surveillance video shows the 33-year-old Williams and another man arguing outside the Associated Supermarket at 206 East 167 Street. At one point another man held the suspect back to try to keep him and Williams separated.

However, the suspect broke free and Williams grabbed him and pushed him up against the supermarket’s barricades. Then the suspect plunged a knife into Williams’ side all the while shocked customers looked on. Williams then collapsed to the ground.

The victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Cops said they have video of the suspect removing his shirt and vest to allegedly hide the blood covered clothes and change his appearance.

Williams lived in the Baychester Houses in the north Bronx. It is unclear what started the arguement that led to the stabbing and Williams death.

What is clear is that the victim’s family needs help in burying their loved one. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help collect funds for Williams’ funeral which is scheduled for May 19th in Mount Vernon.
