BRONX - Three young women are being sought by police for the vicious attack on an MTA worker at a Bronx subway station. The 68-year-old man was hit over the head with a broomstick as the accomplices punched him.

According to investigators, at around 8:15 am on April 16, the 68-year-old MTA worker was on the platform of the Number 2 train at the Wakefield-241st Street subway station. Three women began arguing with the man. Cops did not reveal the initial cause of the argument.

Suddenly one of the women hit the worker in the head with a broomstick. As the man was staggered by the blow, the other two women began punching him. Then the attackers ran down the platform and out the station to the street below. Cops said they fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim was treated at the scene for a cut to the head.

Police released surveillance video from the platform of the Wakefield-241st Street subway station. One of the attackers is seen wearing a very distinct outfit. Her jacket is covered in brightly colored cartoon characters. The jogging pants she was wearing are white with multi-colored designs throughout.

The second suspect was last seen wearing a light color hoodie with the words “Pink” across the chest. She wore dark pants and sneakers. She had a small light handbag strapped across her chest.

The third suspect was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and a navy blue jacket.
