BRONX - A man trying to sell his dog on social media was robbed of the puppy at gunpoint by the people he thought were potential buyers.

Cops said the victim had spoken to an individual on social media who told the dog owner that he was interested in purchasing the pup. The two agreed to meet to hand over the dog and the cash.

At around 9:30 pm on May 9, the 23-year-old man went to a building in the vicinity of Seneca Avenue and Faile Street in Hunts Point. When he arrived he was not just greeted by the buyer but two other men as well. All three men pulled out guns.

One of the trio ripped the dog from the owner’s arms. The gunmen then piled into a gray four-door sedan and drove off in an unknown direction.

Police released a photo of the stolen puppy as well as a picture of the suspect who appears to have posted a selfie.

The lead gunman is described as a male with a light complexion and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie and a black balaclava. The puppy is a pitfall who is grey and white.
