BRONX - A Westchester man has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting inside and outside a Wakefield bodega. Another man was wounded in the shooting which appears to have stemmed from an arguement at the bodega.

Police have identified 24-year-old Dayquon Simmons of Tuckahoe Road as the victim who was gunned down at a deli at 4702 White Plains Road on Sunday. Simmons suffered a gunshot wound to the torso from the shooting at the Wakefield bodega. Simmons was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where he eventually succumbed to the gunshot wound.

At around 11:50 pm on March 19, an argument started inside the deli which escalated rapidly. A man pulled out a gun and opened fire fatally striking Simmons.

A 42-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg. He went to nearby Montefiore Medical Center for treatment by private means. It is unclear if this man was an intended target of the gunman or just a bystander struck when bullets flew inside the deli.

Cops say the gunman fired inside and outside the deli. No description of the shooter has been released at this time.
