Montefiore Einstein Specialists to Share Important Health Information and Resources with the Community

HEALTH - Montefiore will be hosting an afternoon of education and celebration for people who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant and their families, friends and support networks.

The event will feature a panel of maternal and infant health experts from Montefiore Einstein who will share educational information on topics including breastfeeding, birthing and NICU services. The experts will also discuss how social issues, such as housing and food insecurity, impact health outcomes and share details on how to find support.

The event, held in partnership with Empire BlueCross BlueShield, will also include nutritious food from local vendors, mocktails and a maternity photoshoot for the first 20 registered guests.

The maternal mortality rate in the United States is more than three times the rate in most other high-income countries, and the rate for Black women is nearly three times higher than for white women. Enhancing education and access to support and resources for pregnant people and their families are important approaches in addressing these stark statistics.

On hand will be maternal and infant health experts from Montefiore Einstein, Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, Assembly Member Chantel Jackson,                        Jessie Marrero Photography,
