This article originally appeared in The City.  By Reuven Blau Bronx Voice November 22, 2025 NYC LOCAL NEWS - Edwin Ramos was hours away from freedom.  Ramos, 38, was set to plead guilty to an attempted burglary charge at a hearing in Brooklyn court Friday morning. Cop Shot in Suicide Attempt in Bronx

BRONX - Police are investigating the shooting of an officer inside a Bronx precinct locker room as a possible suicide attempt. The officer is expected to survive. 





At around 11 am, the officer shot himself inside the locker room of the 47th Precinct stationhouse. 


The bullet shot through his cheek and he was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition. However, officials said he is expected to survive. 





The officer was only on the job for a little over a year joining the force in December 2021.
