BRONX - An elderly woman was robbed of $30,000 in cash by a pair of scammers who conned their way into the woman’s Bronx home.

At around 3:30 pm on October 29, a 70-year-old woman was out walking near her home in University Heights when a couple struck up a conversation with her. The man and woman continued their conversation with the senior as they walked with her two blocks to the woman’s home in the vicinity of West 183rd Street and Loring Place North near Bronx Community College.

Cops say the victim willingly let the man and woman, who appear to be in their 40s or 50s, into her home. Once inside the apartment, the couple removed the victim’s purse containing her cellphone and credit and debit cards. They also removed $30,000 in cash.

The victim did not sustain any injuries during the robbery.

The perps fled the building but not before their images were captured from a surveillance camera in the lobby of the victim’s building. The man has a light complexion and is balding and appears to be in his 40s or 50s. The woman was dressed all in white, pants, shirt sneakers - similar to what you wear in a doctor’s office.
