BRONX- The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a sketch of a suspect still wanted in connection with the attempted sexual assault of a teenager inside of the popular Pelham Bay Park. One social media user claims he has seen the suspect after the attack.

On May 23, the NYPD released information on the thwarted attack as well as a composite sketch of the suspect. According to a police source the incident took place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

The NYPD official told the Bronx Voice, "A 15-year-old female was walking along a path inside of Pelham Bay Park, when she was approached by an unknown individual who engaged her in conversation."

The official continued, "The individual proceeded to put the victim in a headlock and dragged her to a wooded area of the park before attempting to sexually assault her. The victim fought off the individual and fled the location."

The official added that the victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.

Police describe the assailant as a male, 20 to 30 years old, with a medium complexion and slim build. The individual also is said to have a mustache and "curly eyelashes."

The suspect in the case was last seen wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.

According to "R.D." a user of the popular 'Next Door' app, alerted residents, "He didn't have a mustache when I saw him, it was after the incident with the victim. He was asking for directions to Co-op City." R.D.'s claim could not be immediately verified, but R.D. ended his post stating that he had called the tip line and alerted police.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1 (800) 577-TIPS, or logging into their website at: https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, all calls remain confidential.
