BRONX - A vehicle fire temporarily shut down the New England Thruway outside of Co-op City over the weekend, cops said. Dramatic footage of the fire was captured on Citizen app.


According to police officials the incident was reported at 11:32 pm on Sunday, March 16, along the Northbound New England Thruway, between Bartow Avenue and Baychester Avenue. 


One police official told the Bronx Voice, "FDNY responded and extinguished the fire." He added, "No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.


A spokesperson at the FDNY stated that firefighters received the call at 11:37 p.m. and the incident was closed at 1:42 a.m on March 16.
