Trading in Candy for Toys, Bronx Kids with Diabetes can Enjoy Halloween Too  Bronx Voice  November 6, 2025 BRONX LOCAL NEWS - Bronx children turned in their Halloween candy for toys. The sugary exchange of sweets for shiny new toys is the brainchild of Montefiore and allows children with diabetes to enjoy the holiday in a safe way. At t he Children's Hospital at Montefiore children with diabetes attended the Halloween Candy Exchange coordinated by providers in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes .  The children visited educational tables, enjoyed arts and crafts, a photo booth, healthy snacks, and swapped their trick-or-treating stash for a gift.  Diabetes is a chronic disease that is projected to increase in young people by about 70% by 2060 . BRONX - Cops are looking for a man who walked up to a woman at a Bronx subway station and repeatedly punched her in the face.



At around 3 pm on February 5, a 29-year-old woman was standing on the subway platform of the 219 Street/White Plains Road Station. Cops said a stranger walked up to her and just began punching her in the face over and over again.


The attacker then ran out of the station in an unknown direction.


EMS transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center.



The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect walking on the subway platform. He is described as a male with a medium complexion, medium build and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark colored pants, and white sneakers.

MANHATTAN - Cops are looking for the suspect who bashed a man in the head with a metal pipe during a beatdown in Chinatown, the NYPD said.
