Ride Share Driver Robbed at Knifepoint in front of Van Cortlandt Park

BRONX - A ride share driver was robbed by his passengers at knife point across from the Van Cortlandt Park, cops said.




Police released surveillance video taken from inside a local bodega. Investigators released the photos which showed a close up of the suspect’s tattoo right forearm.


At around 11:30 pm on July 12, a 49-year-old ride share driver had parked his blue Hyundai Sonato in front of Van Cortlandt Park on Broadway. The driver and his two passengers had been arguing when one of them pulled out a knife and threatened the driver.




Holding the driver captive with the knife the passenger removed $60 cash from the victim. 


The passengers then jumped out of the car and fled on foot along Broadway.


Cops said there were no injuries reported.


The suspected robber with the knife is described as a male with a medium complexion and a heavy build. He is 5 foot 11 and is between the ages of 20 and 35. He had a tattoo on hit right forearm. He was last seen wearing a dark colored baseball cap, black t-shirt, blue shorts, and black and white sneakers.





The second suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing all black clothing.
