Bronx Firefighters Battle Four-Alarm Blaze, Discover Woman Dead Inside Apartment  -FDNY Bronx Voice   November 29, 2025 BRONX LOCAL NEWS - A chaotic scene unfolded in the Bronx on Friday afternoon after a four-alarm fire tore through a six-story apartment building—leading firefighters not only to battle heavy flames, but also to a heartbreaking discovery inside one of the units. An elderly woman’s body was found and cops are investigating. The FDNY responded just after midday to 1520 Sheridan Avenue, where flames had erupted in apartment 6H. According to officials, the first units arrived in under four minutes. Despite that quick response, the fire had already pushed its way into the cockloft—the space between the top-floor ceiling and the roof—and began spreading into nearby apartments. Stabbed to Death on Westchester Square

Police are investigating the murder of a man inside his Westchester Square apartment building.

BRONX - A Bronx man was found stabbed to death inside his Westchester Square apartment building. 


At around 2:41 am on November 23, police were called to 2511 Westchester Avenue. In the sixth floor stairwell area police found 23-year-old Rodney Truss unconscious and unresponsive. He suffered a stab wound to his right leg. 


Responding EMS pronounced Truss dead at the scene.



Police have released few details and no word on any descriptions of suspects.
