BRONX - Two men were arrested in the carjacker killing of a driver in Hunts Point. Cops say the victim was gunned down over his Mercedes and not connected to the Hunts Point strip club where the car was parked near.

Police arrested two 18-year-old men for the murder of 45-year-old Jose Alvarado. Akeem Chase and Latrell Fleming were both charged with murder, manslaughter, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

The NYPD says the investigation is ongoing.

At around 11:55 pm on September 24, cops responding to a call of shots fired arrived outside the Diamond Club at 673 Hunts Point Avenue. However, cops found Alvarado with a gunshot wound to the head in front of 665 Hunts Point Avenue.

Officials say Alvarado was shot by a group of carjackers around the corner from the club and that murder was not tied to the club.

The NY Daily News reports that surveillance video shows Alvarado being confronted by three men. Two men are then seen driving off in Alvarado’s Mercedes.

Cops say the victim was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head.
