Park Sex Assault Suspect Wanted by Cops

BRONX - Cops have released new photos and video of a man who tried to sexually assault a woman inside a Bronx park. 





Police released new video taken from off the street and inside a local bodega. The suspect is wanted for a allegedly exposing himself and trying to attack a woman inside a Bronx park. 


The first video showed the suspect walking past a camera on the street. He had his head covered in the hood of a sweatshirt. However, the new video shows the man walking through a local bodega with the hood down revealing his bushy hair. 


At around 8:30 am on August 18, a 39-year-old woman was sitting on a bench inside Crotona Park when she was approached by the suspect. Cops said the man engaged in conversation with the woman before leaving. 


A short time later the man returned and exposed himself to the woman. Cops said he then tried to force the victim to perform a sex act on him. The woman broke free of her attacker and ran out of the park looking for help.


The suspect fled the park in an unknown direction.  


EMS transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital for evaluation. She was list in stable condition.  


The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and facial hair. The new video reveals the suspect has a large afro. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. He was also seen wearing black sandals with the Nike name and logo in white.
