By David Greene  Bronx Voice   October 7, 2025 BRONX - Police have arrested a 15-year-old female and are searching for two others after an 11-year-old child was hit with a rock, chased for five blocks, punched and thrown to the ground and beaten and kicked—and one young girl kicked the child’s puppy and it was all captured on surveillance video. A press conference was held at the corner of Waring Avenue and Holland Avenue after several violent incidents were reported and allegedly carried out by a group of teenage girls in the Allerton community. Power Strip Caused Bronx Fire that Killed Four - FDNY Says

BRONX - A faulty power strip has been found to be the official cause of the fire that killed three children and a Bronx father. 


The FDNY released a tweet from the Fire Marshal who said the fire was “caused by a damaged power strip in the home.” This confirms a previous report that the fire originated from an “electrical malfunction” in a room where a computer was plugged in. The computer chord was found to be melted.


On October 30th, fire broke out at 2165 Quimby Avenue in Castle Hill. The fire killed 22-year-Ahmed Saleh and his 10-month-old daughter Barah. Ahmed’s young brothers Mohamed Waleed Ahmed, 12, and Kalheed Waleed Ben Saleh, 10, also died from injuries as a result of the fire.
