Bronx Building Partially Collapses

BRONX - The FDNY is searching through the wreckage of a partial building collapse in the Bronx. At this time officials have reported no injuries.


Emergency crews responded to a partial collapse at 1915 Billingsley Terraces at around 3:30 pm in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx.

Citizen App video captured the dramatic scene. The corner exterior wall of the entire six-story building fell away. From the street people could see into the tenant’s bedrooms and apartments. 


The building had a scaffolding shed around the site previously. It is unknown if repairs were being carried out prior to the collapse.


It is unknown if this weekend’s heavy rains played a part in the collapse.
