BRONX - A 61-year-old man was pepper sprayed and punched in the face on a Bronx subway train during an apparent random attack, the NYPD said.

A 61-year-old did not have far to go when he was assaulted at the subway station a block away from a Bronx hospital. The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect from inside a subway train.

At around 9 am on November 21, a 61-year-old man was inside a Number 2 train near the 149th Street and Grand Concourse station. Cops said a man walked up to the straphanger and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. The attacker then began to punch the man in the face.

When the train reached the station the attacker fled the subway car and ran out of the station.
