Accused of Stabbing Innocent Man to Death Because His Girlfriend Danced with Another Man

NEW YORK - A Bronx man accused of fatally stabbing to death a stranger during a random attack near the Circle Line has been charged with murder after being extradited to New York from Chicago.
Investigators said Luis Gil, of Soundview, fatally stabbed a New Jersey man because he was angry that when he saw his girlfriend dancing with another man. Cops alleged that Gil killed the first man he saw.
Police arrested 19-year-old Gil of the Bronx in connection with the fatal stabbing at Pier 84 on Jung 13. Gil has been charged with murder after being extradited from
Chicago.
At around 6 am on July 13, Hugo Morales, a 35-year-old man from New Jersey, was sitting on a bench at Pier 84. Gil and a group of four other men were walking through the area near the Pier.
Cops said Gil was enraged after seeing his girlfriend in a social media post dancing with another man and allegedly vowed to stab the first man he saw. Coming upon Morales, cops said Gil stabbed the innocent man in the chest.
Published reports claim Gil told cops he was angry after viewing his girlfriend dancing with another, he would stab the first man he sees.
Cops said Hugo had no connection to Gil or his girlfriend and the fatal attack was indeed random. Police released surveillance video and photos of the group following the murder.
An investigation led cops tonnage Gil as the main suspect for the murder and determine that he skipped town on a bus. Gil was arrested in Chicago last week.
