The bullet smashed through the front door of a phone store, thankfully no one was injured. Police officials say the incident was reported at 2 p.m. on November 7, outside of the Green Olive Deli, located at 716 Morris Park Avenue, at the corner of Hunt Avenue. Officials say the unknown gunman fired a single shot at a second individual and missed. The bullet flew across the street and through the front door of Metro by T-Mobile, at 723 Morris Park Avenue. Both the gunman and victim fled the scene on foot. No description of the gunman was

Yankees Hold Holiday Food Drive

BRONX - Earlier today, the Yankees held their 28th Holiday Food Drive, presented in conjunction with C-Town and Bravo supermarkets and Krasdale Foods. 


In-person food donations were accepted by Yankees staff with help from Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader. The food drive also included the ability for fans make monetary donations online over the previous week.

 

The Yankees, in conjunction with the Bronx Clergy, will distribute all food collected to families in need throughout the Bronx. Additionally, the Yankees have provided the resources to distribute vouchers for additional food purchases to those in need.

As a result of the drive:

  • 3,430 lbs. of food were collected from fans today which will be coupled with an additional donation of approximately 100,000 lbs. of food from Krasdale Foods.


  • $22,000 was collected from fans in online donations which will be used toward the purchase of food to be distributed.


  • 4,000 food vouchers of $25 each will be provided to those in need to use toward food purchases.

Fans who brought at least 30 pounds of non-perishable food received a ticket voucher valid for two (2) complimentary tickets in designated seating areas to select 2023 Yankees regular season home games. 




Fans who donated online received a similar voucher for each $30 donated.
