BRONX - They say you become more cautious with age- apparently that applies to muggers as well. A pair of moped riding muggers in their late 30s and 40s were caught on camera with one of the thieves wearing a reflective yellow safety vest.

At around 1:15 pm on September 17, a 64-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of the Grand Concourse and Monroe Avenue. Suddenly a moped rode up behind him on the sidewalk.

One of the two men on the motorized scooter dismounted and approached. The mugger grabbed the victim’s bag and a struggle ensued. The victim was thrown to the ground and the mugger hopped back on the scooter with his partner and rode off.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

Cops say the thieves made off with keys and identification documents.

Investigators are hoping the public recognizes the muggers not just because of their age but because one was wearing a reflective safety vest when he attacked his victim.

The driver is described to be between the ages of 35 and 45. The mugger is said to be between the ages of 25 and 35 and was last seen wearing the reflective vest as well baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and gray sneakers.
