Car Crash at Cemetery Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

BRONX - One man is dead, and a woman remains in critical condition after a vehicle collided with a tree along Jerome Avenue, outside of the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Police officers from the 50th Precinct were called to a long stretch of roadway on Jerome Avenue, between Bainbridge Avenue and East 233 Street on the Norwood – Woodlawn Heights border, after a 911 call at 3:20 a.m. on November 12.
A police official stated at the time, “A preliminary investigation determined that an unidentified male operating a 2022 Honda Odyssey was traveling northbound on Jerome (Avenue) when he failed to navigate the roadway and struck a tree.”
Police later identified the victim as Jonathan Ramos-Robles, 30, of nearby Dekalb Avenue. Officials say a 42-year-old woman remains in critical condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.
