Homeless Man Busted in Teen Bus Beating

BRONX - Cops arrested a homeless man for an assault on a teenage girl riding a bus in Pelham Bay.



Police announced the arrest of 48-year-old Louis Monroig. He was charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17-years-old. Monroig’s last known address is a Hunts Point homeless shelter across the street from the Banknote Building.

BRONX - Cops are hoping someone will recognize a woman’s funky pants, in addition to the shower cap she was wearing, to help them catch a suspect who beat an elderly woman at the Yankee Stadium subway station in the Bronx.

At around 1 pm on July 26, a 13-year-old girl was sitting on an MTA Bx8 bus traveling on Crosby Avenue. When the bus was in front of TD Bank, a middle aged man walked over to the teen and without warning punched her in the head.



The attacker then got off the bus and fled on foot down Crosby Avenue.


Cops said the teen refused medical treatment the scene.


After an investigation police released a photo of the suspect who appeared carrying cleaning products in a milk crate inside a park.
