BRONX, NY - Police have identified the man, they say, is wanted in connection with the horrifying Bronx balcony incident that left a young mother dead and her infant daughter injured.

The NYPD says Angel Carrasco, 31, is wanted as detectives continue investigating the early-morning incident at 2550 Olinville Avenue in the Bronx.

Police responded to a 911 call at about 3:38 a.m. Tuesday and found a 23-year-old woman and an infant with injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated location. Investigators determined the two had been pushed from a balcony, according to police.

The woman, identified as Nathaly Ramirez, 23, was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was later pronounced dead. Her infant daughter was also taken to Jacobi in critical condition.

Sources said Wednesday that the baby, whom they identified as Carrasco's daughter, was later in stable condition.

Carrasco has now been identified as the suspect being sought, and police have released a wanted notice as the search for him intensifies.

According to law-enforcement sources cited by the New York Post, Carrasco and Ramirez were estranged and had a troubled history. Sources said Carrasco had allegedly brought Ramirez flowers that day in an attempt to reconcile after previous domestic-violence allegations.

That reconciliation attempt allegedly went badly.

Sources told the Post that Carrasco became enraged and allegedly shoved Ramirez from the 15th-floor balcony while she was holding the couple's baby. Carrasco allegedly fled afterward, leaving the flowers behind.

Carrasco had previously faced charges stemming from domestic incidents involving Ramirez, according to sources. He was charged with third-degree assault in January after allegedly slapping Ramirez, and he was charged in another incident days later involving an alleged break-in at her apartment. That case was later sealed, according to the sources.

Sources also said Carrasco had been accused of sending threatening messages to a former girlfriend. His record includes additional arrests, including cases involving false impersonation and marijuana possession, the sources said.

For now, there is no arrest. But investigators have put a name and face to the man they're looking for: Angel Carrasco, 31.

Anyone with information about Carrasco's whereabouts is urged to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Spanish-speaking callers can dial 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted through the NYPD Crime Stoppers website or on X at @NYPDTips.
