Man Killed in Grand Concourse Stabbing; NYPD Seeks Suspect

BRONX, NY — A 27-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the neck Wednesday afternoon inside a building on the Grand Concourse, and police are now asking the public for help identifying the person they say fled the scene.


Police responded to a 911 call around 1:51 p.m. October 7 reporting a person stabbed inside 1555 Grand Concourse, within the 44th Precinct.


Officers found Martin Marquez, 27, who was suffering from a stab wound to the neck. EMS rushed Marquez to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was later pronounced dead.


Detectives have released media showing an individual sought in connection with the homicide.


Police describe the wanted individual as a male with a medium complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black jacket, black-and-red pants, and gray-and-white sneakers.


The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction. 


No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
