NYPD Seeks Public’s Help Identifying Woman in Bronx Strangulation Incident

BRONX, NY - A Bronx commuter was beaten and strangled on a bus near Fordham by an angry passenger, cops said.
According to police, the incident happened at approximately 4:00 p.m. on September 9, in the vicinity of Webster Avenue and East Fordham Road, within the NYPD’s 52nd Precinct.
Police said a 28-year-old woman was riding a BX4 bus when she became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified female. The woman allegedly struck the victim several times in the face and head with a closed fist before placing her hands around the victim’s neck and applying pressure.
The victim reportedly experienced difficulty breathing and pain following the alleged strangulation.
The suspect then jumped out of the bus and fled the area on foot.
EMS transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a woman with a dark complexion and black hair. She is between the ages of 35 and 40. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants. Investigators released a photo taken from video inside the bus.
