NYPD Searching for Scooter Gunman After Two Wounded in Bronx Shooting

BRONX, N.Y. — Two men were injured in a late-night shooting in the Bronx after a gunman riding a motorized scooter opened fire before fleeing the scene, police said.
The shooting happened at around 11:47 p.m. on July 25, near the intersection of Bronx River Avenue and East 174th Street.
Police said an 18-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were standing in the area when they were approached by an unidentified male riding a motorized scooter.
Investigators say the suspect displayed a firearm and fired multiple rounds at the victims.
The 18-year-old was struck in the left arm, while the 23-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the torso.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the younger victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition. The 23-year-old was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was also reported to be in stable condition.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled northbound on Bronx River Avenue aboard the motorized scooter. Police said he escaped to parts unknown.
The suspect is described as a male who was last seen wearing a gray sweater, gray and black pants, and white sneakers.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
