Elderly Man Injured After Being Pushed During Argument on East 149th Street in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — An 81-year-old man was hospitalized after he was allegedly pushed to the ground during a verbal dispute in the Bronx on Tuesday evening, cops said.

The incident occurred on July 28, 2026, at around 7:20 p.m. in front of 764A East 149th Street.

Police said the elderly victim was involved in a verbal argument with an unidentified individual when the confrontation turned physical. During the dispute, the suspect allegedly pushed the 81-year-old man to the ground before fleeing the area on foot in an unknown direction.

As a result of the fall, the victim suffered a head contusion, hip pain, and bruising and scratches to his elbow, authorities said.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect remains unidentified, and no arrests have been announced. 

Investigators are working to determine what led to the dispute and are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
