NYPD Seeks Public's Help Identifying Suspect Wanted in Walton Avenue Attempted Assault Investigation

Gunman Opened Fire on Group in Front of Apartment Building

BRONX, NY — Cops are looking for a gunman who opened fire on a group outside a Fordham Heights apartment building.


According to police, the incident occurred on May 15, 2026, at approximately 9:05 p.m. in front of 2310 Walton Avenue within the confines of the 46th Precinct.





Investigators report that an unidentified individual allegedly displayed a firearm and discharged it in the direction of a group of unidentified individuals. Authorities said the suspect fled the scene on foot immediately after the incident and remains unidentified.


No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting, police said.


The NYPD has released media depicting the individual sought for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. Detectives are encouraging anyone who recognizes the person shown in the images or who may have information related to the incident to come forward.


Police say the incident unfolded during the evening hours outside a residential area on Walton Avenue. While investigators have not released additional details regarding a possible motive, authorities confirmed that shots were fired toward a group of people before the suspect left the area.
