NYPD Seeks Four More Persons of Interest in Bronx Bathgate Playground Shooting Investigation

BRONX - The NYPD has released additional media as part of its ongoing investigation into a shooting incident at Bathgate Playground in the Bronx, identifying four more individuals detectives are seeking to question.


According to investigators, the newly sought individuals include three males and one female, all believed to be between 17 and 18 years old. Images of the four individuals have been made available through the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner, Public Information (DCPI) office as detectives continue to gather evidence in the case.


The investigation stems from a reckless endangerment incident that occurred on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at approximately 5:05 p.m. inside Bathgate Playground, within the confines of the 48th Precinct.


Police said two unidentified males were inside the playground when one of them allegedly fired several rounds from a handgun toward a group of individuals. 


After the shots were fired, both suspects fled on foot before entering a dark-colored sedan that was traveling northbound on Bathgate Avenue. No injuries were reported.


The first individual originally sought in connection with the incident is described as a light-complexioned male who was last seen wearing a red sweater, black T-shirt, black pants, and black sneakers.


The second individual is described as a light-complexioned male who was last seen wearing a light blue sweater, white T-shirt, white and black pants, and black sneakers.


As the investigation progressed, detectives made two arrests.



On May 24, 2026, a 16-year-old male was arrested in the confines of the 48th Precinct and charged with Attempted Murder, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Reckless Endangerment.


A second arrest was made on June 2, 2026, when Anthony Sanchez, 18, of East 182nd Street in the Bronx, was taken into custody. Sanchez was charged with Attempted Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence.


Despite the arrests, investigators continue to seek information regarding the additional four individuals recently identified through newly released media.
