BRONX, NY - Romeo, he’s not. Cops are looking for a man who bashed a woman in the head with a glass bottle during an early morning arguement on Shakespeare Avenue.


A 31-year-old woman assaulted with a bottle in early morning altercation was reported to police following a violent incident that took place on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at approximately 1:05 a.m. The attack occurred in front of 1258 Shakespeare Avenue, where authorities say the victim was approached by an unidentified individual.





According to preliminary reports, the early morning assault on Shakespeare Avenue involving unidentified male suspect began as a verbal dispute. The situation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation between the two individuals.


Police stated that during the altercation, the suspect struck the victim in the head with a bottle, resulting in minor injuries. The female victim injured in head with bottle during street dispute did not require hospitalization and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.


After the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Investigators reported that the male suspect fleeing southbound on Shakespeare Avenue after assault was last seen heading away from the location shortly after the incident.





Authorities described the individual as a male with a medium complexion. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a green sweater and tan pants. The suspect description in Shakespeare Avenue assault case involving green sweater and tan pants is currently being used by law enforcement as they continue to search for the individual.
