BRONX, NY - A dispute with a cell phone clerk turned into a Bronx beatdown with a metal pipe. The truly surprising part is that the suspected attacker is an older woman who barely stands above the counter, new surveillance video reveals.


On April 23, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., police say a disturbing incident unfolded inside a business located at 221 East 170 Street in Claremont Village. What began as a verbal argument quickly escalated into a dangerous physical confrontation.




Law enforcement reports indicate that an unidentified woman engaged in a dispute with a 27-year-old man before allegedly attacking him with a metal pipe. The victim was struck multiple times in the head and body, resulting in serious injuries. 


The victim sustained lacerations to his head and face and was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. 


Incidents like this highlight the risks associated with sudden escalations, particularly in cases described as “NYC assault cases involving blunt weapon injuries and public disputes”.


Following the attack, the suspect fled the location on foot and has not yet been apprehended. 


Police describe the suspect as a female with a medium complexion. At the time of the incident, she was last seen wearing a black sweater, black pants, a green shirt, and black sneakers.


The NYPD is urging residents and anyone who may have been in the area to review any information they might have, including surveillance footage or eyewitness accounts.
