NYPD Seeks Suspects in Violent Bronx Bodega Robbery After Employees Assaulted in 52nd Precinct

BRONX, NY - A purple hoodied gunman and another man are being sought for pistol whipping one bodega worker and beating another with a chair during a violent robbery in the Bronx. 


According to police, the incident took place in the early morning hours of April 22, 2026, inside a neighborhood bodega located at 3128 Villa Avenue within the 52nd Precinct. What began as a routine overnight shift quickly turned into a frightening and dangerous situation for two store employees.





Authorities say that at approximately 3:00 a.m., two unidentified individuals entered the store. The situation escalated almost immediately. Police report that the suspects displayed a firearm, creating a tense and threatening environment for everyone inside.


During the robbery, violence broke out. One suspect allegedly struck a 27-year-old employee in the head with the firearm, while the second suspect attacked a 22-year-old employee using a chair. Despite the severity of the assault, both victims declined medical attention at the scene.





The suspects then proceeded to steal property from the store, taking the victims’ cellphones and making off with approximately $250 from the cash register. After committing the crime, both individuals fled on foot, heading southbound on Villa Avenue.


Now, investigators are turning to the public for help.
