BRONX, NY - It was Code Blue at a Bronx urgent care center when a pair of patients stabbed and pepper sprayed a security guard. Now cop’s are asking for the public’s help in trying to catch them.
According to police, the bold daytime assault inside Bronx urgent care facility April 2026 took place on Tuesday, April 14, at approximately 2:30 p.m. inside a CityMD Urgent Care location on East 170th Street, within the confines of the 44th Precinct.
Investigators say the incident began as a verbal dispute between a 21-year-old security guard and two unidentified individuals. However, the situation quickly escalated into violence, turning into what authorities are calling a violent stabbing and pepper spray attack on NYC security guard.
During the confrontation, the suspects allegedly stabbed the victim in the back with a sharp metal object. As if that weren’t enough, police say the attackers then sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray before repeatedly punching and kicking him.
This shocking sequence of events has raised concerns about safety of security personnel in New York City medical facilities, especially during busy daytime hours.
After carrying out the attack, the two individuals fled the scene. Police report that the suspects were last seen leaving in a white KIA SUV, heading in an unknown direction. Authorities are now working to identify them and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
EMS responded quickly and transported the injured security guard to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln. Fortunately, officials confirmed that the victim is currently in stable condition.
Still, the severity of the attack has prompted renewed attention to emergency response to violent assaults in Bronx healthcare centers, as well as the risks faced by frontline workers.
The NYPD is now turning to the public for assistance, hoping that someone may recognize the individuals captured in surveillance images. Cases like this highlight the importance of public assistance in identifying suspects in NYC violent assault cases, which often plays a critical role in investigations.
Incidents like this continue to fuel discussions about rising violent crime incidents in Bronx neighborhoods 2026, especially those occurring in places typically considered safe, like medical facilities.
