BRONX, NY - With the warm weather upon us, teen girls need to be on the lookout for moped riding chain snatchers.

Three separate incidents occurred between last Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, all involving suspects using mopeds to quickly approach victims and flee the scene.

The first incident happened around 5:42 p.m. last Saturday near Gleason Avenue and Noble Avenue. A 15-year-old girl was approached from behind by two individuals riding a moped who attempted to snatch her necklace.

Just minutes later, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a second incident unfolded in front of 1890 Watson Avenue. This time, a 13-year-old girl was targeted by two individuals on a moped who successfully snatched her necklace, valued at about $600.

Less than 24 hours later, a similar crime was reported in another part of the Bronx.

On Sunday, April 12 at around 1:30 p.m., a 13-year-old girl standing outside 2119 Grand Concourse was approached by an individual riding a blue moped. The suspect grabbed her necklace, valued at over $2,000, before fleeing southbound.

Investigators have released photos of the suspects from surveillance cameras. In one photo the suspect is seen driving a bright blue moped. He is described as a male with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black North Face puffy winter coat, along with a black ski mask and black knit cap, black jeans and black sneakers, and what appeared to be a light green hoodie underneath the coat.

In the second photo the suspect is driving a black moped. He is seen wearing a black and grey winter coat, black ski mask and black knit cap.
