BRONX, NY - Cops are looking for a pair of moped riding chain snatchers who have struck in multiple neighborhoods throughout the Bronx during their high-speed reign of terror.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying two individuals believed to be responsible for a string of robberies spanning several precincts, including the 42nd, 43rd, 46th, 48th, and 49th.

According to police, the suspects follow a consistent method: they approach victims from behind while riding a moped, make verbal threats, and quickly snatch necklaces before fleeing the scene.

This Bronx robbery pattern involving moped suspects stealing necklaces has unfolded over multiple incidents in March and April 2026, raising concerns among residents and law enforcement alike.

The first three robberies were reported on March 21, 2026, within a span of just over an hour:

  • Around 4:13 PM, a 44-year-old man was targeted in front of 546 East 171 Street in the 42nd Precinct.

  • Just 35 minutes later, a 20-year-old woman was robbed in front of 163 East 184 Street in the 46th Precinct.

  • By 5:35 PM, a 14-year-old girl was attacked in front of 2339 Hoffman Street in the 48th Precinct, suffering minor neck injuries.

In each case, the suspects approached from behind on a moped, threatened the victim, and forcibly removed a necklace before fleeing.

The pattern continued on April 8, 2026, with two more incidents:

  • A 30-year-old woman was robbed near 1258 Fteley Avenue in the 43rd Precinct.

  • Minutes later, a 27-year-old man was targeted near Wallace Avenue in the 49th Precinct.

In the second April 8 incident, the suspects escalated their tactics by displaying a firearm—marking a concerning shift in behavior.

A sixth incident occurred on April 11, 2026, in the 43rd Precinct, where a 35-year-old man was similarly robbed at gunpoint near Fteley Avenue.

Police say the suspects:

  • Travel together on a moped

  • Target individuals wearing visible jewelry

  • Approach victims from behind

  • Use threats—and in later cases, a firearm

  • Flee quickly, often heading eastbound or to unknown locations

This series of Bronx necklace snatching robberies involving moped riders appears to be coordinated and deliberate.

While most victims were not seriously injured, at least two reported pain and redness to the neck due to the force used in removing the jewelry.

The NYPD is actively investigating and is urging anyone with information about this multi-precinct robbery pattern in the Bronx to come forward.

Residents are also encouraged to take precautions, such as avoiding the display of expensive jewelry in public and staying aware of their surroundings—especially during the late afternoon and early evening hours when these incidents have occurred.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
