DAY SCARE - Man Robbed at Gunpoint Across from Bronx Daycare

BRONX, NY - Cops are looking for a brazen stickup man who robbed a man at gunpoint in broad daylight across the street from a daycare center. Cops said the gunman nabbed the victim’s suitcase filled with items and cash totaling $11,000.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a robbery suspect involved in a daytime robbery in the Bronx 43rd Precinct.
According to police, the robbery occurred on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at approximately 1:20 p.m. in front of 1217 Stratford Avenue. Investigators say a 30-year-old man was approached by an unidentified individual who simulated a firearm and demanded property.
Police reports indicate the suspect confronted the victim in broad daylight and acted as though he had a firearm. Fearing for his safety, the victim attempted to flee the scene.
During the attempt to escape, the victim dropped his luggage. Authorities say the suspect quickly retrieved the luggage and fled in a gray Acura SUV. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Stratford Avenue toward East 172 Street.
The stolen luggage and its contents are valued at approximately $11,000.
The suspect is described as a male with a fark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black winter coat, black pants and black sneakers.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the NYPD investigation into the Stratford Avenue robbery remains ongoing.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information about the suspect involved in the February 19 Bronx robbery to come forward.
