Bodega Thug Brained Elderly Woman with Cane in Random Attack - Cops Say

The NYPD released video and photos of the suspect who attacked a woman inside a bodega across from the from Gun Hill Road Train Station. It is still unclear the motive for the attack or why the victim was targeted.
According to police, the incident took place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 3:20 p.m., inside a bodega located at 3502 White Plains Road, within the confines of the NYPD 47th Precinct.
Authorities say a 69-year-old woman was inside the store when she was approached by an unidentified individual. Without provocation, the suspect allegedly struck the victim in the forehead with a cane, causing a visible laceration.
After the assault, the suspect fled the location on foot, traveling northbound on White Plains Road, police said.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was treated and listed in stable condition.
The NYPD has released surveillance images of the individual they believe is responsible and is urging anyone who may recognize the suspect or have information related to the incident to come forward.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by detectives assigned to the 47th Precinct. No arrests have been made at this time, and the identity of the suspect has not yet been determined.
