BRONX, NY — A 27-year-old Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with a string of armed subway robberies on the northbound 6 train in the Bronx, police announced.
According to authorities, Quajon Rhodes, 27, of Brooklyn, NY, was taken into custody on February 17, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m. within the confines of the 49th Precinct. He is facing multiple felony charges, including two counts of robbery, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
The arrest follows an ongoing investigation into late-night armed robberies near Westchester Square–Tremont Avenue station in the Bronx.
Police say both incidents occurred shortly after midnight and followed a similar pattern — raising concerns about overnight subway robberies on the 6 train line in the Bronx.
Christmas Day Armed Robbery on Bronx Subway Train
The first incident was reported on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at approximately 12:40 a.m.
A 27-year-old man was riding a northbound 6 train approaching the Westchester Square–Tremont Avenue station when an unidentified individual allegedly approached him, displayed a firearm, and demanded his property.
When the victim refused, police say the suspect struck him in the face with the firearm before forcibly taking his cellphone. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
This incident is being investigated as a Christmas Day armed robbery aboard a Bronx subway train.
Early January Armed Robbery on the 6 Train Near Westchester Square
The second robbery was reported on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at approximately 12:03 a.m. In that case, a 30-year-old man was also riding a northbound 6 train approaching the same Bronx station when a suspect allegedly displayed a firearm and demanded property.
Authorities say the suspect removed the victim’s wallet — containing approximately $350 and a debit card — along with his keys before fleeing the train. No injuries were reported in the second incident.
Police are investigating this as a January armed robbery on the 6 train near Westchester Square in the Bronx.
Following an investigation, Rhodes was arrested and charged in connection with what authorities describe as two separate armed robberies on the northbound 6 train in the Bronx.
Rhodes was charged with 2 counts of robbery, 2 counts of criminal possession of a weapon, 2 counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
Police have not released additional details regarding how the suspect was identified.
As in all criminal cases, the charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
The case highlights continued concerns about late-night subway crime in the Bronx along the 6 train corridor, particularly during overnight hours when trains are less crowded.
Authorities have not indicated whether additional incidents may be connected to this investigation into armed robberies targeting riders on the northbound 6 train near Westchester Square–Tremont Avenue station.
