The shooting occurred just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the 170th Street Subway Station, which serves the B and D subway lines. The station falls within the jurisdiction of Transit District 11 and the NYPD’s 44th Precinct.
According to investigators and sources familiar with the case, the deadly Bronx subway platform shooting began with a dispute between the victim and the gunman while they were riding a train. The argument reportedly escalated and spilled onto the station platform moments before shots were fired.
Officials say Dawodu was struck with bullets once in the thigh and once in the groin.
