BRONX, NY — A Bronx man has been indicted on murder and manslaughter charges in what prosecutors are calling a senseless and unprovoked fatal stabbing that claimed the life of a 53-year-old Bronx father as he was heading to work.

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced that Sean Jones, 38, of the Bronx, has been charged with

second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the deadly January attack.

“This is a truly horrific case where an innocent man’s life was taken for apparently no reason,” District Attorney Clark said in a statement. “The defendant is accused of stabbing the victim repeatedly, causing his death. We will get justice for this family.”

According to the investigation, the fatal stabbing occurred on January 5, 2026, at approximately 1:55 p.m., near

Third Avenue between East 157th Street and East 158th Street in the Bronx.

Prosecutors allege that Jones approached George Ennin, 53, without provocation and stabbed him multiple times with a knife. The victim suffered stab wounds to the head, face, and torso, including a fatal wound to the heart.

Ennin, a father of two, was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals Lincoln, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities say the attack was unprovoked, underscoring the randomness and brutality of the crime.

Jones was arraigned on Tuesday, February 4, 2026, in

Bronx Supreme Courtbefore Justice Pamela Goldsmith. He remains remanded as the case moves forward.

His next court appearance is scheduled for March 17, 2026.
