Bronx Assault Near East 149th Street: NYPD Seeks Public’s Help Identifying Three Suspects in 40th Precinct Attack

Police in the South Bronx are asking for the public’s help identifying three men wanted in connection with a violent assault that occurred within the confines of the 40th Precinct. The incident, which took place Sunday evening near East 149th Street, left a 19-year-old man hospitalized but in stable condition.
If you were in the area or recognize the individuals described below, investigators say your tip could make a critical difference.
According to the NYPD, the assault happened on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., in front of 318 East 149 Street in the Bronx.
Police report that a 19-year-old male was approached by three unidentified individuals following a verbal dispute. The encounter quickly escalated. One suspect allegedly displayed a firearm and struck the victim multiple times in the head.
A second suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the ribs.
All three individuals then punched and kicked the victim before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition.
Investigators released the following descriptions in hopes that members of the public can help identify the individuals:
The first suspect is described as a male with a light complexion. He is approximately 19 to 25 years old with medium build, brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue shirt, dark pants, and white shoes.
The second suspect is described as a male with a light complexion who is between the ages of 19 and 25. He has a heavy build and was last seen wearing a white jersey, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white and red shoes, and a red baseball hat. He allegedly displayed a firearm and struck the victim multiple times.
The third suspect is described as a male with a light complexion who is between the ages of 19 and 25. Approximately 19 to 25 years old. He has a heavy build and was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white shoes, and a blue baseball hat. This suspect allegedly stabbed the victim during the attack.
Authorities say all three suspects fled on foot and remain at large.
The case is currently being investigated by detectives assigned to the 40th Precinct. As of this publication, no arrests have been made.
This violent assault near East 149th Street has raised concerns among residents in the surrounding Bronx neighborhood, particularly given the use of both a firearm and a knife during the dispute.
