BRONX, NY — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a woman wanted in connection with a robbery involving a knife in the Bronx’s 47 Precinct, police said.
According to investigators, the incident happened on December 10, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., near 3515 White Plains Road, a busy commercial stretch in the Bronx.
Police say the unidentified woman entered a nail salon and received a manicure before leaving the business without paying. When a 52-year-old female employee followed her outside to request payment, the situation escalated.
Investigators report that the suspect displayed a knife, causing the employee to retreat. The woman then fled into the Gun Hill Road subway station, disappearing before officers arrived.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident is being investigated as a robbery due to the use of a weapon, according to NYPD officials.
The NYPD released a description in hopes that someone recognizes the individual:
- Gender: Female
- Build: Heavyset
- Complexion: Dark
- Last seen wearing: A purple jacket
Investigators released surveillance video of the suspect from inside the nail salon.
Robberies involving edged weapons are taken seriously, especially when they occur in high-traffic commercial areas and near transit hubs like the Gun Hill Road station. Detectives believe someone may recognize the suspect based on the released description and images.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/, on X @NYPDTips.
All calls are confidential.
Incidents like this highlight ongoing concerns around retail theft, public safety, and transit-adjacent crime in the Bronx. The NYPD continues to rely on community partnerships to resolve cases quickly and safely.
