NEW YORK, NY - The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a violent knife assault on a Bronx city bus, an incident that left a 43-year-old man seriously injured late Friday night.

According to police, the assault occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, aboard a BX16 MTA bus near West 166 Street and Ogden Avenue, within the confines of the NYPD’s 44 Precinct.

Investigators say the victim was riding the BX16 bus when he became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual. The argument quickly escalated, turning physical as the bus approached the intersection of West 166 Street and Ogden Avenue in the Bronx.
