NYPD Seeks Public’s Help After Attempted Robbery at East Tremont Avenue–West Farms Subway Station

BRONX LOCAL NEWS - The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals wanted in connection with an attempted robbery inside the East Tremont Avenue–West Farms subway station - one of the robbers was seen waving a machete.


The incident, which occurred in the area covered by the 48th Precinct and Transit District 12, has raised concerns among commuters who frequent this busy Bronx transit hub.


What Happened at the West Farms Subway Station?


According to police, the attempted robbery took place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., inside the East Tremont Avenue–West Farms subway station. A 44-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were reportedly approached by two unidentified individuals shortly after a verbal dispute.


Police say the situation escalated quickly. 


One individual allegedly pulled out a machete and struck the 44-year-old victim on the left wrist and right leg.


The second individual allegedly punched the 32-year-old victim in the face and attempted to steal his cellphone from his pocket, though the robbery attempt was unsuccessful.

After the attack, both individuals fled the subway station and were last seen driving away in a blue Honda Element bearing Pennsylvania license plate KLM7727.


Victims Transported to Hospital


Both victims sustained bodily injuries during the encounter. First responders transported them to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
